The Story

Inspired by Edwin Markham’s poem “The Larger Circle,” I created this blog to help myself (and you, dear reader) “draw the larger circles” of tolerance and compassion around those who don’t have the same values or beliefs that are important to us.

Part personal, part spiritual, part philosophical (and sometimes part political), I want this blog to lessen a bit of the emotional pain we sometimes feel over something negative that a family member or friend has said or done (or over something hurtful that we’ve heard or read about).

I hope that this blog will, in some fashion, give us an easing of pain, a feeling of hope, and a sense of “The Larger Circle” that holds us all in Love.
